BFI 2023-2033 Consultation
The BFI’s new funding strategy will be the successor to BFI 2022 (now ending in March 2023); it will run from April 2023 to the BFI’s centenary in 2033 and will draw on the work the BFI has done to set out a clear purpose and vision for itI to transform access to its programmes, screen culture and jobs.
The strategy will identify areas of activity to be supported specifically with the £50 million a year of National Lottery funding that the BFI receives to ensure the continued vibrancy of our screen culture and industry growth UK-wide. A series of shorter implementation plans will set out the detail of the funding mechanisms to be used to deliver the strategy over the 10-year period – the first of which will begin in spring 2023 and is set to span three to five years.
The BFI are working with independent research agency BritainThinks, who have worked extensively with public sector and commercial organisations, to conduct the Next Up consultation to gain objective perspectives from stakeholders, industry and the UK public in establishing shared priorities for the screen sectors – including film, TV and games – over the next 10 years from 2023.
The first phase of the consultation is open until October 5th and UK Screen and Animation UK members should feed their thoughts into our response as the consultations is not open to everybody.
Please see the document below for the consultation questions.
