UK Screen's Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Fund, known as the ALT Fund, has at least £150,000 available for apprenticeship training in small and medium sized visual effects, post-production and animation companies.

UK Screen Alliance successfully lobbied MAC to expand the Shortage Occupation List for roles in VFX and animation. We also want roles on the list to be exempt from the Immigration Skills Charge.

UK Screen Alliance and Animation UK have been working hard to help represent members' views and interests in the midst of the Governmental changes which have come into play in the lead up to the UK's planned exit from the EU.
The UK's Screen Sector tax breaks are successful in attracting international film & TV production, but as other territories also seek a piece of that action, we must ensure UK VFX and post production companies remain globally competitive.
The supply of home-grown skills is an area in which UK Screen Alliance and Animation UK members have made considerable efforts in recent years, such as schools outreach, careers advice, apprenticeships, and engagement with FE and HE.

We are founding partners in Access:VFX, a global collective of VFX/animation studios that strive to increase inclusion in our sector. Access:VFX provides mentoring, schools outreach, careers information and opportunity for under-represented groups.
We liaise with ScreenSkills to decide funding priorities for post & VFX subsidised training. This year the High-end TV Skills Fund has funded leadership training, returnships, client relationship training and specialist HDR and QC short courses.
