Industry Events  |  14 June 2021 - 19 June 2021

Venue: Online, Hybrid Event

Annecy International Animation Film Festival and its Market (Mifa): the major international event for over 11,000 industry professionals.

Created in 1960, the festival takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998.

The Annecy Festival team is working on a hybrid edition that will be held from 14th to 19th June, and are in the process of finalising the on-site and online offers, and various access formulas that will be presented when accreditations open in April.

Animation UK is once again leading the partnership to ensure the UK Animation sector has a strong presence at Annecy this year, at a time when it has never been more important to promote the sector and ensure that we are conveying a strong cohesive message in the context of withdrawal from Creative Europe.

With funding secured from the  British Film Institute (BFI), and via partnerships with the British Film Commission, Film London, Northern Ireland Screen & Creative Scotland, we are combining efforts and working together to raise the profile of the UK’s Animation sector championing new developments and collaboration.

This year’s Animation UK is leading the UK animation presence with a Virtual stand, a panel in the FOCUS Mifa strand, discounted accreditation, and a wider communications campaign.

Panel: Animating our World: a UK Perspective – 14:00 – 15:15 (UTC+2) | June 15 | Online

In this panel, UK animation companies and organisations will reflect on the latest developments and opportunities from across the UK.
