Mediawan Skyhigh streamlines post-production with farmerswife and Cirkus

Mediawan Skyhigh, one of the top five TV production companies in the Netherlands, has built its reputation over 27 years of television production. Founded in 1999 as SkyhighTV by three young men who met while working for a public broadcaster, the company has now completed more than 750 productions.
Today, Mediawan Skyhigh is able to produce television series entirely in-house. With more than 15 edit suites, 15 Parsec suites, and a professional Operational Media Support team that includes media management and IT professionals, the company has the infrastructure and expertise to handle post-production from A to Z. But as the business grew, its internal systems were no longer able to support the scale and complexity of the work.
The challenge
Before farmerswife, Mediawan Skyhigh managed post-production through various software systems and one shared email inbox. Every question, task, query, or request came through that single mailbox, which created a fragmented and highly manual workflow.
On busy days, it took three to four post-production planners just to manage requests between Outlook, planning tools, and internal teams.
As demand increased, the process became even harder to manage. At one point, Mediawan Skyhigh had 34 productions running at the same time. Planning edit suites and media management services still depended on manual coordination, and completing one post-production job required a minimum of 10 steps across different software systems. Invoicing was especially difficult and time-consuming.
The team needed a new system that could replace multiple tools, centralize planning, simplify invoicing, and make the day-to-day business much more efficient.
Why farmerswife and Cirkus
Mediawan Skyhigh went live with farmerswife and Cirkus on February 9, 2026, across both its post-production and production units.
Today, farmerswife is the main hub where all planning takes place, while invoicing can be done with one click of a button. For the team, the real magic happens in Cirkus, where they were able to bring together all the different tasks connected to the post-production unit.
What made the difference was how well the two systems work together. Instead of switching between disconnected tools, the team now works in one joined-up environment that supports planning, task management, communication, and invoicing in a much more structured way.
Just as importantly, the system could be customized to their exact needs. That meant Mediawan Skyhigh could keep its post-production services and workflows intact while introducing the team to a completely new, more user-friendly way of working.
The benefits of using Cirkus
Since implementing farmerswife and Cirkus, Mediawan Skyhigh has seen major improvements in efficiency, communication, and staffing.
The biggest impact has been in time and personnel savings. The workflow itself has become much simpler. What used to take 10 steps per job can now be completed in just 2 steps. Planning is clearer, invoicing is faster, and departments communicate much more effectively.
The team also highlights stronger understanding and clearer communication across the business. By moving away from shared inboxes, disconnected software systems, and complicated manual processes, Mediawan Skyhigh is now saving hours and hours every week.
There has also been a clear benefit when it comes to onboarding. New employees no longer need the same level of post-production education, because the tools and knowledge they need are already built into farmerswife and Cirkus. That makes it much easier for new team members to get up to speed and start working effectively.
The onboarding experience
Mediawan Skyhigh describes the onboarding experience as smooth from the start. Jennifer and Martin from the farmerswife team were supportive early on, and after several meetings about the company’s specific needs, it quickly became clear that farmerswife and Cirkus were the right tools.
Working closely with project manager Martin, the team went through the software step by step, which made it easy to get acquainted with the system and practice with each feature. They also found the setup process manageable and straightforward.
One of the biggest strengths for Mediawan Skyhigh was the flexibility of the platform. Because everything can be customized to fit exact needs, the company was able to keep its existing post-production services in place while gradually moving the team into a new environment.
The result has been much better communication between departments, more efficient planning, and significant time savings across the business.
