La Cabane and Thuristar have announced a new partnership with CAKE for the international distribution of A Lamb’s Stew, an animation special written and directed by Joeri Christiaen and produced by Perrine Gauthier.

This is the third collaboration between CAKE, La Cabane and Thuristar. Previous works include the International Emmy-nominated series Mush-Mush and The Mushables which launched its second season in 2023 – and more recently, Luce in the Lovely Land, written and directed by Britt Raes.
A Lamb’s Stew is an ambitious project, and we’re confident that CAKE’s expertise will help bring this heartfelt story and distinctive visual style to audiences around the globe.

Four major European broadcasters have recently confirmed their commitment to the special: Canal+ (France), VRT-Ketnet (Belgium), ZDF (Germany) and RTS (Switzerland). A Lamb’s Stew has received support from the MEDIA Creative Europe Programme, the CNC, the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF) and the Procirep-Angoa.
The film is helmed by Joeri Christiaen (Mush-Mush, My Knight and Me) and produced in the open-source Blender software. Joeri Christiaen is also the film’s scriptwriter; he worked with Claire Paoletti (Shoom’s Odyssey) as story consultant during the project’s initial development phase, and with Julia Smuts Louw (Star Wars: Visions – Aau’s Song and The Smeds and the Smoos) as Story Editor for the final script. The English voice cast includes Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes), T’Nia Miller (Sex Education, Years and Years) and upcoming talent Iris Onyejiuwa in the lead roles.
This new original creation is a 26-minute modern tale designed for a family audience. The film tells the story of Billie, a young lamb determined to prove that sheep are just as brave as other animals. Billie devises a plan to lure a wolf into a trap, only to realize he may not be the monster she was led to believe. Through her journey, the story challenges assumptions and celebrates individuality, inviting viewers to not judge a sheep by its wool, nor a wolf by its fur.
