We provide a range of services and events from networking, training and information sessions to access to business and legal advice, bursaries and discounts. Most importantly UK Screen provides a central voice for the industry by gathering and representing the views of the sector to Government, Broadcasters, Studios, manufacturers, production teams and other interested parties.
A Collective Voice
We get involved in important industry issues and consultations that affect our member communities. Having a collective voice enables us to ensure that the views of our sector are taken into account when key decisions are made. UK Screen provides a conduit for communication between the sector and Government, broadcasters, studios, Creative Skillset and other relevant parties. We represent the sector at key meetings and events and draft consultation responses based on our members’ views and data.
Promoting Skills Development
UK Screen Alliance works closely with Creative Skillset and other bodies to influence policy and funding allocation for skills development across the facilities sector. We solicit our members’ views and communicate opportunities to access funds and training.
Networking, information and education events
Our events range from our evening educational sessions for junior staff to multi-speaker conferences on the latest technological issues to impact the sector, and to ad hoc sessions on business issues. All events are free to members.
Industry and Member News
We send out regular news updates to members. Our web site Members’ Area also has a library of important industry documents and links to business, legal, technology and HR bulletins, in addition to notes from our working group meetings.
We bring members together to discuss important industry topics and to drive UK Screen’s activity across our policy, skills and technology agendas.
Promoting Members Internationally
UK Screen Alliance works with the British Film Commission, Department for International Trade and the British Council on opportunities to showcase our member companies. We seek bursary funding and grants to help our members attend international programme markets, conferences and trade missions. We also facilitate introductions and meeting opportunities with potential international clients visiting the UK.
We offer a range of third party discounts and benefits, including legal and business advice from our sponsors and special deals on third party events, insurance and magazine subscriptions.
