Lucy Ainsworth-Taylor and Angela Barson have won the 2018 Barclays Business Award at this year’s Women in Film and TV awards at the London Hilton Park Lane. This prestigious award is given to visionary females whose business acumen and financial results impressed the judging panel.
Accepting the award from ‘Roma’ Producer, Gabriella Rodriguez, was MD Lucy Ainsworth-Taylor, who explained; “We are so proud to have won this award. Especially as it recognises the business side of the company, which often goes unnoticed.”
With a combined experience of over 40 years, Lucy Ainsworth-Taylor and Angela Barson established BlueBolt in 2009 (blue-bolt.com). The venture was self-funded and is currently the only all female-owned and run VFX company.
Since its establishment, BlueBolt has worked on tent pole film and TV productions for both the UK and US markets. Their diverse range of projects includes features such as; ‘Johnny English Strikes Again’ (Universal), ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ (Working Title), ‘ Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ (Paramount) and ‘Serenity’ (Shoebox Films).
BlueBolt’s unique niche is based on creating photo-real visual effects to the highest standard. The same special attention to detail has always been given to both film and television projects which has led onto many award wins and nominations. They both pride themselves on giving their clients a positive and supportive experience.
The team is currently working on ‘The Rhythm Section’ (Eon Productions), ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ (The Ink Factory) ‘Catherine the Great’ (HBO/Sky) and Season 5 of ‘Peaky Blinders’.
